Every summer chef Chris Ward hosts an afternoon grilling and cooking class at The Mercury to benefit GALT, an all-volunteer group dedicated to finding homes for greyhounds that were trained as racers, have medical needs and need help transitioning from the track to their new life. For more information about GALT, check out their website.
Cooking For the Hounds will take place on Saturday, August 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Mercury. Ward will be joined by former Dallas Star Craig Ludwig. Ward will prepare a full menu which will include grilled steaks, marinated olives, Garbage Salad, twice-baked potatoes, and Baked Alaska. He’ll grill on a Hasty-Bake Legacy 131 Charcoal Grill which will be auctioned off during the event.
Tickets are $85 per person and includes a full course tasting of demonstrated recipes, recipe cards, two drink tickets, and door prizes. There will also be a silent auction including artwork, spa and restaurant gift certificates, and custom jewelry. To purchase tickets online click on the events page or call 972-503-GALT.
